Father Alexis' Bio
Fr. Alexis Baldwin grew up in Mississippi, spending his formative years in Greenville. His family moved to Laurel, Mississippi during his later childhood and lived there during his teen years. They then moved to Mesa, Arizona in his senior year of high school where he met his future wife, Matushka Veronika.
Fr. Alexis graduated from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2007 with a Bachelors of Arts in Theology. He and Matushka married in the summer of 2008 and converted to Orthodoxy shortly after. In May 2013, he graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Saint Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary in South Canaan, Pennsylvania, under the spiritual guidance of Archpriest Alexander Atty. Fr. Alexis was ordained priest in July 2013. He served for one year under the guidance of Archpriest Anthony Karbo of Holy Theophany Orthodox Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In July 2014, he transferred to the Diocese of the South (Orthodox Church in America) where he was assigned as priest-in-charge of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Mission in North Augusta, South Carolina beginning October 1, 2014, under the guidance of Archpriest Thomas Moore and Archpriest Marcus Burch. Fr. Alexis served there until January 6, 2020, when he was assigned as a Mission priest at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Clinton, Mississippi, beginning January 15, 2020.
Fr. now only occasionally serves at Holy Resurrection in Clinton and devotes his time to rotating services here at Christ the Saviour, Holy Cross Orthodox Mission in Petal (covering the Hattiesburg area), and Saint Catherine Orthodox Church in Columbus.
Fr. Alexis and Matushka Veronika have six children, all boys: Aidan, Isaak, Justin, Seraphim, Benjamin, and Frederick Kallistos.
